e-discovery is not just the purview of a few, technically minded lawyers anymore. It’s moved into the limelight. On May 31st, a documentary titled “The Decade of Discovery” had its premier showing at The Hoboken International Film Festival in New York.
This film, produced and directed by Joe Looby, chronicles “a government attorney on a quest to find a better way to search White House e-mail, and a teacher who takes a stand to establish civil justice on the new electronic frontier.” It includes interviews with many of the U.S.’s leading e-discovery thought providers, include Judge Shira Scheindlin of Zubelake fame.
While e-discovery is still viewed by many practitioners as something only required for very large matters, documentaries such as this will hopefully increase awareness that any matter nowadays involving documents will involve electronic documents.
